Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Macromise (“the Service”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Macromise is a macro-tracking application. We provide the Service as-is, without warranty of any kind. Macromise is not medical or nutritional advice. The numbers shown are based on the ingredient values you enter and on data from public food databases; we do not guarantee their accuracy.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use Macromise. You can create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google — both routes create the same Macromise account and have equal standing under these Terms. You are responsible for keeping your password (or your Google account) secure and for activity on your account. Tell us at hello@macromise.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law or violate someone else’s rights.
- Try to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the Service or its hosting infrastructure (denial-of-service, vulnerability scans without permission, scraping at abusive rates, etc.).
- Resell, rent, sublicense, or expose the Service to third parties beyond personal use.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, or contains personal data of other people without their consent.
- Use the contact form to send spam, abusive, or unlawful messages, or to impersonate someone else.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with notice where reasonable.
4. Free and Pro plans
The free plan is provided free of charge with the limits described on the pricing page. The Pro plan is a recurring subscription billed in advance (monthly or yearly) at the price listed at checkout. You can cancel at any time from the Profile page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We may change Pro pricing or feature scope at any time. Material changes affecting existing subscribers will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect on a renewal.
5. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Your content and data
You retain all rights to the recipes, ingredients, plans, and other content you create in Macromise. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display that content as required to run the Service for you. We do not use your content to train models, sell to third parties, or share with anyone outside the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
We use PostHog (EU region) for product analytics. PostHog is integrated as first-party through our own domain (not a third-party tracker shared with other sites), and events are identified only by an internal account identifier, never by email. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
7. Account termination
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page. When you delete your account we remove your data per the schedule in our Privacy Policy. We may terminate accounts that breach these Terms; where the breach is not material we will give you a reasonable chance to fix it first.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance, third-party outages, or emergency fixes may briefly affect the Service.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in fees during that period (or zero if you are on the free plan). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Norwegian or EU consumer law.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply. Disputes will first be addressed by contacting us at hello@macromise.app; unresolved disputes may be brought before the courts of Norway or, for consumers, the courts of your country of residence.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. The current effective date is shown above. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice before they take effect; continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.
